Richard Black
Times Two Architects, Melbourne

Michelle and Richard Black formed Times Two Architects in 2006 to draw upon on their combined experience in architecture. Michelle has many years of practice experience, having worked for several leading design practices in Melbourne, and as a sole practitioner. On the other hand, Richard comes from a background in academia, holding a key role in design studio education at RMIT University where he recently completed a PhD. Times Two Architects have a particular interest and expertise in the relationship forged between building and landscape - their practice base in rural Victoria affords them the opportunity to apply these skills on a range of residential commissions. Times Two Architects are to be featured in a case study on rural based architectural practice in a forthcoming publication on contemporary Victorian Architecture. Two exhibitions will also feature their work: at the Aedes Gallery, Centre for Contemporary Architecture, Berlin; and at the Center for Art + Environment, Nevada Museum of Art.
